Description/ About the Institution

Akal Academy is a co-educational English medium boarding school located in Himachal Pradesh. It was established by the Kalgidhar Trust/Society in 1986. Starting with just 5 students in 1986, the Academy has now flourished into a full-fledged Senior Secondary school.


The school has 72 branches that spreads over the states of Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. It is planning to grow its branches to 150 in the coming years. The school is open to all students from all religions communities and nationalities.

  • Initiatives The school has taken various initiatives for the benefit of the society. Some of them are as follows:

    1. The students of Akal Academy planted more than 150 trees around the boundary walls of Akal Academy Uddat Saidewala.

    2. An awareness drive on Drug-Addiction was undertaken in the form of a Rally by the Kalgidhar Trust on 11 July, 2011.

    3. The students of "Eco Club" of Akal Academy have launched a project wherein the students will recycle the waste paper and prepare drawing sheets.

  • Admission Procedure For Indian Students :

    Admission is granted to Indian students in all grades except X and XII. The admission is based on the entrance test conducted by the school.

    In Nursery class, the admission is granted only to those children whose age is between 4-5 years without any entrance test.

    For Overseas Students :

    Admission is granted to NRI and other foreign students in classes ranging from Nursery to Grade VI. The entrance test is conducted for admissions in all the grades except Nursery class.
  • Fee Structure For Indian Students : Rs. 80,000 to 83,000 (Approx.)

    For Overseas Students : Rs. 1,35,000 (Approx.)

    At the time of admission, 60% of annual dues have to be deposited. Balance amount have to be remitted by 31st July.
  • Syllabi/Curriculum The school follows the CBSE curriculum and offers the following combinations of subjects for students in grades 11 and 12:

    Science : English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics/Informatics practices

    Commerce : English, Mathematics, Economics, Accountancy, Business Studies, Informatics Practices
  • Scholarships The school has a scholarship scheme known as Akal Talent Search Scheme (ATSS). Under this scheme, an examination is conducted to identify the brilliant students form the lower strata of the society for further education in Class VI on subsidized fee basis.

    The total number of scholarships awarded under this scheme is 5. Only the students who meet the below mentioned criteria are eligible for this scholarship:

    1. Students who are in class V and seeking admission in class VI.

    2. Minimum percentage of marks in class V: 65%

    3. Parental Income up to Rs. 1 lakh per annum.

    4. Excellence in academic & overall growth in performance is essential for continuation of scholarship in successive classes.

  • Examinations & Results The school has excellent performance records in Class X and XII board results. All the students of the school pass the examination in First Division and many students score more than 80% marks.

  • Eligibility Criteria 1. For admission to Nursery, the age of the children must be between 4-5 years.

    2. Foreign students are required to have student visa from the Indian Embassy/ Consulates. The school does not accept Tourist Visas or any other type of visas.
