Description/ About the Institution Founded in 1853, Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) is a private research university located in St. Louis, Missouri, US. It is known for its excellence in patient care, education and research and offers more than 90 programs and almost 1,500 courses in a wide range of disciplines. The faculty of WUSTL is composed of scholars, scientists, artists and members of the learned professions.
